Testimonial – Career Coaching

Time To Reflect On Our Work & Life Values

As we end 2020, now is a great time to think about our careers, since March 2020 (first lockdown) I’d say most of my coaching clients have been reflective; wondering which of their work/life values are really important and which were not so important, specifically reflecting on their priorities regarding family, career, purpose and health as a result of COVID-19 and perhaps a career change was needed. Below is a recent testimonial from a client that started as face-to-face before lockdown then transferred to Zoom for our virtual coaching sessions.

“I wanted to share some positive feedback about Johnathan and the service he provides with career coaching.

I really enjoyed my time with Johnathan as my career coach, he has lots of knowledge and experience, which is incredibly valuable and I have found very useful. The skills and techniques he uses are outside of the box and he encourages you to think differently or alternate your perspective. I think this is a really positive experience to bring to someone who may struggle with this from time to time. He made me realise my needs and wants in my work life and the best values and aspects about myself. He has boosted my confidence and given me lots of tools to use now and in the future and it is a very valuable experience which should be shared more widely.” ~ GD

So wherever you are in your search for a deeply satisfying and fulfilling career, the three keywords that I’ll bring to you are: Clarity, Purpose and Direction.

NHS Clap for Carers Night – Every Thursday 8pm

Male Nurse

Michael Rosen wrote the following poem for the NHS 60th Anniversary. He is currently in hospital with Coronavirus but is now stable. This poem is for all nurses around the world who are fighting Covid-19, who come to work and face the dangers when human instinct is to run from it, wonderful courageous and caring individuals.

Please show your appreciation by clapping, blowing horns, banging pots with wooden spoons outside your front doors or open windows, at 8pm on Thursday nights!

These are the hands

These are the hands
That touch us first
Feel your head
Find the pulse
And make your bed.

That tap your back
Test the skin
Hold your arm
Wheel the bin
Change the bulb
Fix the drip
Pour the jug
Replace your hip.

These are the hands
That fill the bath
Mop the floor
Flick the switch
Soothe the sore
Burn the swabs
Give us a jab
Throw out sharps
Design the lab.

And these are the hands
That stop the leaks
Empty the pan
Wipe the pipes
Carry the can
Clamp the veins
Make the cast
Log the dose
And touch us last.

Stay well…stay healthy…and stay at home to protect our NHS staff!

Testimonial – Greater Awareness of Myself

Man Thinking Sunset

“I signed up for career coaching to gain a greater awareness of the roles that suited my skills and knowledge… but it actually gave me a whole lot more.

I found Johnathan easy to talk to and with the varied activities in the sessions trigger thought provoking conversations that enabled me to identify what I really value in myself and how I can use them and allow me to develop in my current and prospective roles.

It gave me clarity and showed me what is important to me and what makes me tick as an employee, what gives me personal satisfaction and why. With careful questioning and probing Johnathan helped me discover these. The approach that Johnathan comes with gives a fresh approach. At times it was challenging but enjoyable!”

I would recommend giving it a go to anyone.” – RB

Christmas Message: The Return of Light

Each year a local church sends out a card with the times of its Christmas services. The picture on the front changes annually, but the headline is always the same.

HOPE IS BORN

The idea of decorating Christmas trees has its roots in Winter solstice

This is sent to us at a time of darkness when we are in such desperate need of finding a better way for living our lives in creative harmony and support for each other.

Just when the power of the sun is at it’s very lowest, and the night of the beginning of Winter solstice (about 21st – 23rd December, this year 21st)  the very longest of the year, if we will give ourselves the opportunity, we can focus on our own dark shadow side and begin to realise when and where we, as individuals have not lived up to the ideal of expressing Good Will to all men.

If we can but acknowledge it, this dark place within is our place of hope and creativity, and the place where we begin to know ourselves as ultimately ‘light’ filled. Here we can transform our deep and long held (and mostly unconscious) fears of being exploited by betrayal, abandonment, rejection, humiliation and being the victim in an unjust world. Here we can convert those fears back to their original positive expression as at our very beginnings.

Faith in the ultimate goodness of all life, and charity as our way of serving that ideal, while Hope, with the returning power, the rebirth of Light at Christmas can inspire us to a changed future.

Have a M-E-R-R-Y  C-H-R-I-S-T-M-A-S !

’til we meet again,

Walk in Beauty;

Walk in Peace.
